Breaking2 was actually more enjoyable at the time as it was a pretty audacious leap into the unknown. It was basically a given he would reach the halfway point in under an hour, but every step after that I was thinking "Okay, when he is going to totally shut down?" The results I think blew away most people's expectations. Remember the WR was still 2:02:57 at the time and he took off two and a half minutes from that.
INEOS was a formality to confirm what we all knew was possible after Breaking2.
The crowd made all the difference. Also, having Desisa and Tadese fail so spectacularly showed preparation wasn't as good.
Definitely Ineos 1:59. At least they had a decent crowd present for the festivity.
