I found a four year old shoe online. It has never been worn and still has the tags on it. The reason I would consider it is this model was good to me and the price is literally less than the original price. The shoe is authentic. Will this shoe perform about like a new shoe would or will four years make a huge difference in quality?

Probably fine unless they were in extreme climate or a lot of direct sunlight.
Have they become collectables? If not, why would you pay even 1/2 the original price. And I'm no chemistry major, but would think the foam, and other materials literally have degraded over time.
The shoe will be fine but, as someone else said, you should pay a tiny fraction of the original price.
The only concern is the glue.
I had a pair of running that I bought in 2006 and I started to wear it in 2015, it felt almost the same as my last pair when I used them back in 2006-2007. But, after about 400 miles, the upper start to separate from the mid-sole - maybe due to the humidity from my sweet.
So, if you like it, it should perform just as good as a new pair.
