I feel like the HM is just on the edge of not needing to but is beneficial if you do.
I am absolutely unable to drink water from a tiny paper cup while running in stride so I don't take any during a race as I tend to inhale most of it.
I have however noticed feeling much better towards the end of my 12-16 mile runs when I stop for 15 seconds to take a drink around 8 miles in.
Is there a secret to drinking water from a cup while running or am I going to be forced to stop, drink and then get going again?
FWIW, last HM was a mediocre 1:25:50(35-40mpw), on track for about a 1:20.
