Well, you're not wrong. It does beg questions. Salazar gets four years because another disgruntled coach, Magness, took an extra dose of a legal supplement (and then ran a race, deeming him to be an athlete) - but Magness, who actually took the dose and who ran, gets nothing? Punishment does not seem equitable or to fit the crime. This speaks to USADA's lack of uniformity in prosecutorial pursuit and punishment. AKA hypocrisy. Tygart seems to gain perverse pleasure in destroying people's lives and livelihoods. Taking down Salazar seems more personal than an impartial administration of justice. Aat the end of the day, USADA needed to put up a high-profile win to justify huge effort and expense. Having this finding and sanction announced during World's was no coincidence. The "big fish" here was Salazar. Magness got a pass for ratting him out. Or making shite up, as the case may be. Even if Salazar ultimately mounts an exonerating defense or rides out the ban, , his career and reputation are effectively ruined. He's forever tainted goods - and everyone associated with him and NOP are deemed guilty by association.

Why isn't Magness banned? He admits taking an illegal amount of L Carnitine by an illegal method. He abetted a convicted coach in the practice of doping.
You can't say he told that he did it so he gets off. Alberto told what he was doing.
Can't be ok for one and not the other.
