Seriously that was a great 10000 with 2 guys neck and neck with 100 to go

Thrilling last lap. Will we finally admit, a kick doesn't come down to the fastest runner in the mile. The indoor mile WR holder just lost in a kick.
Great race. Great pace, overlaps everywhere, runners being dropped, progressive acceleration.....
A superb finish with Cheptegei countering Kejelcha and not giving up the first position. I think that's what made the difference.
26:48 , great time for the event. I would like more 10 000m across all the season.
Agreed. Kwemoi faded but deserves plenty of credit for pushing the pace along with Kipruto and Cheptegei.

Indoor success doesn't translate to outdoor. Kejelcha chased mile times in paced races on springy doped tracks. He'd get slaughtered in a legit outdoor mile. He'd have a hard time breaking 3:50 outdoors.
Italians loving that race. Big payday for them.

Tell that to the IAAF. You won't be seeing many 10,000m or 5000m when the IAAF gets rid of it for Diamond League in 2020.
Generally speaking, 5000 and 10000 races are boring for spectators and contain the most phony doppers. Coe was right to axe this BS.
Cheptegei ..rolling a small pb ; big thumbs up for Lomong 27:04 pb in a champs race !!

Oh of course, all the doping is in the 5 and 10,000. There is no doping in the 100, 200 400, 800, 1500, and 3000m. Let's just get rid of the entire sport then?
Moen in his ridiculous clown shoes gets lapped! I was sort of a fan after Fukuoka but what is going on now?
Hats off to Lopez, 27 low mixed it up Nd showed no fear at age 34. I hope he keeps running. From a young 800 stud to a 10k stub who does he think he is a young Hassan :) Seriously, props Lopez.
Who is this “we” you speak of?
Refreshing to see guys keeping the pace honest and not just letting it come down to a last lap burn up. That is how you nullify an Ethiopian kick.
Wasn't Simeon Barega supposed to be the third Ethiopian?

The kick is more about who has more left in the tank.
Mo won in 2017 and the time was only a second slower, so he probably would of gotten silver here. We can officially say that Bekele has the fastest time of the decade of 26:43, since nobody will run faster than that before 2020. Bekele is the best.
Can we give a shoutout to Yeman Crippa, who ran 27'10" for eight, a PB of 34" and finally broke Antibo's national record after 30 or so years.... and he's only 23
Kejelcha has a 3:31 PR compared to 3:37 for Cheptegai. However, it was Yomif's first ever 10000 and he was stretched to his limit.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
