^To be clear, this wasn't what I was saying. This athlete isn't Moroccan and impugning the character of an entire nation is repulsive. Unfortunately Morocco is clearly a particular hot spot for doping products in our sport, that is what I meant.

The whole thing is a set up without foundation.

Look at it this way.

1. The French Federation is aware of this but taking no action.

2. The French Anti Doping Agency is also.not pursuing this, because no damning evidence.

3. The scammer is claiming Amdouni owes him 150 euros for procurement of EPO and HGH. What? 150 euros?

That measly amount does not tally with the real value of the aforementioned illicit substances.

Amdouni has been training in Doha since August, and training at night to simulate conditions.

Sadly Amdouni has withdrawn from the marathon.

Another name tarnished with little/no evidence.

Interesting that his fake excuse for withdrawing was injury. Seems like some other East African dopers withdrew with “injuries” too.

Also interesting that it mentions training in South Africa. Seems like that country is popping up a lot these days.

Yeah, but if you were to bett your life on it, would you honestly willing to stake it all on a French-Moroccan athlete being clean?

Even without evidence, anyone with links to Morocco is unlikely to be running clean. It's just the way it is.

Morhad Amdouni calls the whole thing a « non-event ».

He also has a history of dodgy biological passport results. But maybe this was becasue of dehydration/illness/antibiotics/badly calibrated lab equipment/non standardized procedures which were all um er "underlying factors" in Radcliffe's dodgy biological passport results.

1. The French Federation hasn't stepped in because: they currently can't make a legal case/are preparing to step in/are corrupt.

2. See 1.

3. Who's to say what's happened? Plausible that there are various middlemen and hangers on who expect little cuts and fees for keeping quiet/moving around dodgy substances, it doesn't have to be the cost of the drugs. €150 is a lot of money to a lot of the world.

A scammer re claiming his perceived loss of 150 euros? Why not 1000 euros, or 10,000 euros for that matter, to silence Amdouni ?

This case is based on a lot of hearesay, and until proof of the contrary, Morhad should be afforded the benefit of not being implicated in this.

As a God Fearing Muslim, Morhad has always played by the rules, going back to his childhood soccer days.

Many athletes have bio passports which look unusual ? Yep, that is what differentiates them from the masses.

This looks pretty sketchy to me. Not a hot reaction from the family either.

That said, if you think training in South Africa is a red flag... you're gonna have to raise a ton of red flags. Loads train there for a variety of reasons.

It has altitude that is European time zone but cheaper than Switzerland. Dullstroom or potchefstroom are coming up on half the price of somewhere like Chiavenna or Sankt Moritz. If you're doing a month long camp that adds up. While being cheap, it is still western enough, everyone speaks English, alright wifi, TV, apartments etc compared to say altitude in Kenya or Ethiopia.

Pretty much the whole of team GB distance/mid d had their pre worlds camp in Potch. As soon as colder weather hits Europe, Dullstroom is crawling with Europeans wanting pleasant, warm, altitude.
