Have always had my doubts about Galen, but I always thought whenever the hammer came down on Salazar that somehow Rupp would go down too. That he wasn't directly implicated in this is honestly shocking to me. What does he do now?

Retirement, along with Salazar.
The doping cheater Rupp needs to go go prison. I hope and pray that he goes to prison.
You mean into any more obscurity than he already is, internationally? No one cares about a 2:06 guy outside of America.
Alberto Jr is his new coach.

Deer gawd moran , he goes home devastated.
Quit. F*cking cheater.
And he can't even finish within a mile of Kipchoge or Bekele. Cheating didn't even make him relevant...sad.
To Brad Hudson
He could win watered-down marathons against has-beens, but obviously got his butt handed to him when actual competitive marathoners showed up, or when the big, bad non-Ruppified weather made an appearance.
Then of course running THE OLYMPICS is easy when only 3 Kenyans and Ethiopians can run.
All the miniature dude had to do was run Dubai, or London, or Berlin. Then, it might not have taken nearly his entire career to run faster than American guys were running in the 1970s. Of course, without doping, Rupp wouldn't have won a bronze medal in the Olympic marathon. You know, not a gold like Shorter won twice.

Rupp's training group was just investigated for four years by USADA, and he wasn't found to have cheated.
I guess it doesn't matter as he's totally irrelevant anyways.
Tinman
He'll have an injury soon enough. Will take a long time coming back. Will run a disappointing comeback race somewhere and say his injury is still bothering him. More time off from racing. Come back after long time and run better than expected at a low key race. Get some buzz and sign on to run some big race. Act like training is going better than ever. Eventually DNS from said race. Some other injury this time. Repeat this cycle another time or two. Eventually retire from racing and take some made up job with Nike.

You get it.
I agree with all the sentiments in this thread. Rupp has shown at the very least horrible judgement in character and whether or not it can be proven he cheated, it is clear beyond a reasonable doubt he did not value the spirit of competition and clean sport when associating with himself with Salazar after his time at Oregon and onward. One has to assume as a high schooler he didn't know any better.
But there is just nothing to prove definitively that he cheated here. If he retires, doesn't he look all the more guilty? It would be sweet revenge to come back from this with a truly amazing result, although it would be a tainted result in the eyes of most rational people.
Mostly, I'd like to hear from Galen or his agent, as well as Dathan, Mo, Matthew, Mary, and other athletes who left the group. Nick Willis' tweets left me with a feeling that there is a lot of fishy stuff going on even within the group and while it may be speculation, leaving NOP sounds like it wasn't as easy as "hey, I want to train elsewhere." Salazar's comments after this ruling make him seem like quite the a$$hole many posts on this board and news articles lead one to believe, and I'd like to know, if from a more personal side, athletes in the group felt Salazar was often putting their best interests from a health perspective at risk.
I just remembered Galen trained under Alberto another year before officially training with Oregon. Never mind, he knew.
Well, this business has revealed literally nothing regarding Rupp that hasn’t been out for years. He isn’t actually implicated in anything. Other than not being publicly coached by Salazar, I don’t see why anything would change for him.
Rupp to Hansons! That would be EPIC
It would be epic to see him finish 5th in another marathon, but under a different coach? Weird definition of epic.

Bahahahahahahahahahaahaha.
Yeah. Winning an Olympic medal. Too easy.
