We've got an article up on some of the athlete reaction to Alberto's ban. Nearly all the athletes expressing their sentiment are against Alberto.
Article here.

New theory - the anti-NOP anonymous letsrun posters are pro athletes. The rest of us are fine with ethical grey area coaching.
The verdict actually makes me like Salazar better. He was trying to help his athletes in any way he could within the rules. He made mistakes, but his mistakes did not directly affect any athlete and he was only trying to protect them (like trying to make sure Galen couldn't be sabotaged). He was not the intentional, undercover rule-breaker like some letsrun posters insinuate. -

Nope, Alberto's age makes him all the more horrible. He has been a bad actor for decades, all the more reason for young people to be happy to see him get some punishment even if too little and much too late .
He's been dirty and crapping all over the sport since before some of these athletes were born. -

Did you read the report? Or even the excerpt from it on the home page? -

The whole thing from the start has made me much more supportive of Salazar.
He used to share many of the NOP's workouts, and then stopped doing that because of the constant attacks.
Not surprisingly, several of the athlete's negative reactions are from Wetmore's group, who've been active in the process. -

I think it's a bit unfair to make it sound like only one group of athletes is critical of Salazar.
Nike athletes in the steeple here at Worlds criticized Salazar. -
They all hate Nike for various reason. When the pregnancy thing came out...the usual suspects all piled on Nike (while NB, Saucony, Brooks quietly updated their contracts) No one attacked Asics for their policies.
It's tiresome.
Almost not one of them read the actual decision, they just went based on the headline.
Pro runners are a collective bunch of morons. -

I tend to think those defending a cheating coach are the morons. -

A real theory: The majority of posts defending Salazar are from his spawn: Maria, Alex and Tony. -

Don't speak for "the rest of us" in no way am I fine with an "ethical grey area". It's obvious that Salazar was trying to find a way to cheat. Where there is smoke their is fire. He is trying to cheat and dance around the rules. Thankfully he finally went too far and then tapered with testing results. Bye bye. -
Nick Willis gave the best response on Twitter.
Is there anybody above him on the all-time 1500m list NOT associated with doping? -

No one is defending a cheating coach. Ironically the only proven doper among the anti-nike folks is Magness. -

You think he's clean. He had porn problem to inflate his T. -

Wrong. He was trying to help his athletes without breaking any rules, the same as any good coach.
Thankfully he finally went too far and then tapered with testing results.
I don't believe that, unless you have some valid proof, and not just more "I hate minorities" rhetoric. -

Trying to make sure Galen “couldn’t be sabotaged” is a completely illogical defence. If Galen has some weird substance rubbed on him, how about he just documents it and report who ever did it?
Seriously it’s like saying to a border guard after being caught with cocaine that you weren’t actually trying to smuggle cocaine, you just wanted to know how much could pass by undetected in order to make sure no one could “sabotage” you. -

You don't even know me so don't play the "I hate minorities" card with me that's a total cop out. To read through all this and to come to the conclusion that he wasn't doping his athletes you really have your head in the sand. Lance didn't take drugs either right? Neither did Barry Bonds, well never got caught. -
This was a terrible article more than 1/3 of the "quotes" were from Oiselle which has a dislike of nike.
