Is it fair that half of the men's NCAA 5k field comes from Arkansas or Stanford? What is the limit of athletes from one team that can be in one event?

I don't think there is a limit. Entry is based on time, there is an 'A' and 'B' standard. They take everyone that has met the A standard and if the field is not big enough they start filling with the fasted guys from the B group. So Stanford or Ark could qualify as many guys as they wanted, if they could meet the standards.
I noticed that too. If Stanford had one more runner in the 5k, we could've scored it like a dual meet. We could score 4 runners, or maybe 3 would be better since Arkansas could have one guy blow up and still score well, whereas if 3 were scored, Stanford has a little more leeway. Predictions for the Stanford Arkansas dual meet? We'll remove those runners not on the aformentioned teams and add the top 3 places for each team. I say Arkansas wins 7 - 14.
The lineup:
Alistair Cragg JR Arkansas 13:35.93
Daniel Lincoln SR Arkansas 13:44.12
Silverus Kimeli JR Arkansas 13:50.47
Wes Alkin JR Arkansas 13:55.98
Jason Sandfort SO Arkansas 13:56.50
Louis Luchini SR Stanford 13:49.82
Ian Dobson SO Stanford 13:52.29
Adam Tenforde JR Stanford 13:55.39
Neil Davis FR Stanford 13:57.18
dumb down track. Hmmmm, how's this: If any school has more than three runners capable of running an auto qualifier, that school shall have the option of having those athletes, uh:
a. run with snow shoes on
b. immediatlely ban some, all, a bunch, most, several, or some such number of those runners who think running phast is phun to a D1.04 institution
c. carry a rather large watermelon while racing
d. start from 72.376 fathoms behind everyone else
e. sheesh, where did this come from?
How about the schools with really good relay teams? They seem to have an unfair thing going there too. We could have every third relay runner use a watermelon for a baton. Aha! We'll make the 4X400 guys run the DMR and the DMR guys run the women's 4Xwhatever and the...
Shame, shame on them Hawgs for running fast. Bad Hogs, no milk and cookies for you.
I totally support a petition banning anyone who has a (see above for numerical classification) of runners who are faster than most others.
You think that Stanford and Arkansas are loading up the DI race, take a look at the DII start list. There's 7 freaking guys from Western in the race. That's an entire xc team
