First of all, he should have been DQ'd for trying to pass on the inside in the prelim and should never have been allowed to race the final.

But then in the final, how many times can he push and shove and trip up other runners before he gets punished for it so that he'll learn his lesson? You can't just keep running into people and expect them to be ok with it!

Jacob was the dirtiest guy on the track, almost took out Ahmed with a lap to go. The guy doesn't believe he needs to run around other athletes when he's behind... thinks he can push his way through whenever he wants.

The problem I have with Jakob is he tries to stay too tight behind the runner ahead to get the best draft, but he’s just runs too da@n close, and ends up blocking the back-kick. Nearly every race Jakob is in, you can see to spike marks on his shins from doing this. Every. Race.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter here - he was not going to win the race.

I'm not a Jakob hater, but it's stupid to think he'll do anything more to "rescue" the sport any more than Dieter Bauman did. Everybody remember those glory days when a white guy won a gold medal?
