This year I am looking to incorporate the 800m into my events that I participate in along side the 400m and the LJ. I’m kind of clueless as to how to start my base training. My school doesn’t have indoor and I play soccer. The soccer season ends in early February and we do quite a bit of running. Our coach currently has us building our 3 times a week runs up to 5 miles for during season. I was wondering when I should start 800m base training and what I should do for it if anything. What type of running, how often and what are different body weight workouts I can do as well. I get in the gym a lot for soccer but I want to do as much as I can do be as best as I can be for taking on this new event.
