When the first 5000m was 15:30 I’m pretty sure that Hassan’s lactate wasn’t above 4mmol/l ..., basically half marathon pace. She finished up with a 14:47 and yes 2:40 last 1000m. Short story; she warmed up at her LT for ~16 min, then gutted the field over the last 1000m.
This. She ran a 65:15 half recently - that's 3:05/k pace, or 15:25/k. So when she went through 5000m in 15:30, she barely produced any lactate.
Performance wise, Daniels calculator estimates a 29:35 10k on the roads with her 65:15 half (you can convert it to track, it would be even faster).
People here underestimate the sheer potential that runners who can drop a 65:15 half on the roads have on a track 10k. I'd say she can run 29 low, and will break the WR in a faster race eventually.
