4:17 last mile.... Equivalent to a 3:58 1500m.
Unbelievable wow.

Alberto is the best ever! He knows all the best techniques! All the best workouts! His athletes are always the best mentally prepared, and equipped with the best tactics! He's so good! His knowledge is so much more advanced than any other coach!

She was a 3:55 person before Alberto, but now she's closing a 10k in 3:58? Wow!
More like 4:18 and change last mile as 1600 m is 9 mile short of a mile--awesome nonetheless
3:59 close
A somewhat biased sample as some of his athletes burn out or are injured and never reach the pinnacle of the sport.
As I recall, Wang Juxia's splits in her 1993 10,000 WR were crazy as well like breaking the existing 5000 m (at the time) for the last half of the race. Of course, everyone questions that performance now
And let’s not ignore that Gidey ran about a 14:48 2nd 5k and a pretty decent final 1500. And Tirop was also under 15 for the final 5000. :-)

And she still only ran 30:17. Which tells you the first 8500m were nothing more than a tempo run ( with pacers).

You are truly insane
So, I'm imagining that Elliot and Snell were also the best 10k runners of their generation and could close the last 4 laps of a 10k race only 5 or so seconds of their own world mile records. Gee - what Salazar knows that they didn't.

Lol. +1
It is ridiculous that someone can close a 10k with a 4:18 mile, regardless of initial pace.
Just as depressing for the long term popularity and reputation of the sport were Bekele’s 2:01 marathon, after years of dropping out of practically every race, and Coleman’s 9.76!
