As stated on his Instagram he had a small Achilles injury.

What a strange season he's had. I suppose ex-runner will explain to us that it was caused by him being too fast.
Why pull out with any kind of minor injury? May as well run the heats and see how it goes.
Could we see two Americans walking away with medals?

And that is why you are a loser armchair quarterback. You have no idea how the Achilles operates nor do you begin to have any understanding of what it is like to run at a world class level. Trust me, it is not tantamount to your wrist being sore from pleasuring yourself over a white man running well.

Hahahahahaha.... ex-runner wouldn't have the wit for a line like that.
When I think of Amos, all I think of is imagine how good he would be if he was in the NOP. But then again Murphy isn't what he used to be but Amos talent jumps off the page.

Unbelievable! I had Amos winning the whole thing and setting a CR! My man Amos has gone down so what do I do now? ?
Kidder catches a major break now in Heat 2, should advance to semis along with the other 3 US athletes.

Gold and Silver or Gold and Bronze?
Naturally, the 800m is no longer available to switch picks. What a joke the contest is.
Amos should do eccentric calf drops. He was obviously very close to wr shape.

What works for Marathoners does not apply to 800m runners. Training for 800m places Achilles in danger. Nijel Amos trained through a hamstring pull/slight tear/strain which placed Achilles in greater jeopardy.

C'mon, he's in his 30's, he can't go on forever. He'll be too old for Tokyo (and Rudisha might be back), so may as well have gone for bust.

There was time to do it between his announcement and the first heats
Bye, Anus.
