Roberta Groner will definitely finish in the top 10 and I wouldn't be shocked if she's on the podium as the elites that show up wilt. Perfect conditions for a Jersey tough Mom.

Kenyans and Ethiopians all come in with sub 2:20 PBs. I wouldn't bet on that. Things happen in championship races but I don't know how Africans will wilt before a runner from NJ.
They'll wilt like it's Rio all over again. Will she podium-certainly debatable, but enough east Africans will drop for her to get into the top 10.
I'll be amazed if half finish.
Her 2.29 could be good for 13th if a few wilt and she can beat two of the three Japanese
Athletes from Belarus, Namibia, Portugal, and Italy are the others around the cusp of the top ten
With the conditions they'll be facing-you need to run smart and have incredible mental toughness, she's got it. There's not a lot of depth in this field. I don't think it's a stretch for someone who came in 12th in world major last year(nyc) to push a top 5 at these Worlds.

Huh?

Belarus and Portugal were 25th and 26th at 5k, now 12th and 13th at 10k
The race isn’t over yet, but I believe we should all take homage in the greatness of Groner the grinder. She is the greatest marathoner we’ve seen in our age. She is the hero we need. She is the hero we deserve.
Agreed. So far the best performance of the race and maybe the meet
Is she to hot and humid what Des Linden is to cold and rainy?

Ha, so true! Great job, Roberta!
North Korea with all 3 scorers in the top 14, did they win the team prize?!
Great call!
Reminiscent of the wonderful American showing in Athens. Sounds like similar tactics here as well- no warmup, focus on hydration, ice in headband, and conservative running with even or negative splits.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
