No deal Brexit, will be a lot worse than some stranded Tourists.

This probably doesn't affect many Americans directly and I doubt that there are many Americans currently stranded somewhere in the world because of this. To Brits and other Europeans it is a big deal especially if you went up to the check-in counter for your return flight and were told "sorry, you've been cancelled".

I agree that the situation sucks, but I'm not sure I understand how these people are "stranded." Most of them are returning to the UK from Spain. Is there no other airline that provides even indirect service between Spain and the UK? I have a hard time believing that the failure of one airline has completely severed all connection between Heathrow (Europe's largest airport) and the country of Spain (which includes Europe's 7th and 8th largest airports).

I've been telling people to avoid Thomas Cook for 3 years after the worst transatlantic flight of my life.

Feel totally vindicated.

Why would the court allow them to go into liquidation? Doesn’t GB have something like Chapter 11 protection so companies don’t have to stop critical operations? And was this voluntary or something filed by creditors? Now they’ve created hundreds of thousands of new claimants lol..

I remember seeing Thomas Cook show up on flight results on some websites. I never understood what it was, seemed sketchy.
