I like both George and the Dixie Chicks.......now I am torn and hope it passes over before they get booed off the stage in their next Texas concerts.
who cares? the guys an idiot.
lets face it, he would not be able to legally work as a school bus driver if he copped to his past drug use.
Finally, someone from Texas speaks honestly and with some common sense.
Go Chicks!
If he is an idiot and he is pres. of the U.S., what does that make you?
The Dixie Chicks should keep their mouths closed. I don't know why entertainers think we give a crap about their political views. Just play your music, or act, or tell your jokes, but leave the political commentary to those who know something about. There might be debate Dixie Chicks about who that would be, but it sure in hell ain't you.
your post constitutes a pathetic use of logic. go get murdered.
Whatever your opinions on the imminent war with Iraq is, that's your business.
However, as much as everyone likes to think (including George himself, and evidently the Dixie Chicks) that George is from Texas, he is not. Next time you drive past New Haven, Connecticut, take note to look at the sign that says "Birthplace of George W. Bush."
As a country singer, if you expect to sell any albums or fill up any U.S. arenas, it is a bad idea to come out against the President. One station in Atlanta already has the Chicks blacklisted.
If there is one demographic that is solidly behind the President, it's the people who use their hands every day to make a living. These people run in circles where bullies don't listen to reason, violence is sometimes necessary, and peace, while admirable, is rarely achievable when it comes to dealing with jackasses. In other words, it's a place most of us don't see while we are sitting in our college dorm room or in an office building screwing around on our high speed Internet connections all day.

Yeah, because clearly you need to be an expert in international diplomacy to feel one way or another about the war and to recognize that a lot of people overseas are pissed off at America.
I can't believe all these un-Americans abusing their rights by protesting against this great war and our obviously brilliant president. It's too bad this country isn't more like Turkmenistan where saying something bad about the government will get you free overnight accomodations in prison. There is a country where people learn respect.
You win some, you lose some.
They may have lost a fan in you, but they gained one in me.

God forbid people are actaully able to publicly express their opinions without reprecussions.
Whether WE THINK we should go to war with Iraq is illogical.
WE don't know enough of the facts to make an intelligent decision on the matter. (You know kind of like...1 + x = y.
Why should we think "y" when we don't know "x.")
The fact of the matter is that less than 300 people
know the FACTS that effect the US decision re: war.
DEAL WITH IT! We may think WE know...from NYT
and CNN, but that's not crucial intel from CIA, NSA, FBI etc. Just think how idiotic those hollywood types are
that think it's trendy to be "anti iraq war".
Debate war all you want. Nothing wrong with that.
Just be aware of the context that you initiate the
debate in.

you dont need to be a genious to be president dumbass, also your logic makes no sence cause most likly he didnt vote for him
Performers are AMERICAN CITIZENS, thus they have a right to express an opinion as much as you & me. If the media chooses to show up with a microphone & camera, more power to 'em....

Isn't that what expressing opinions is all about? What happened the first time you profanely expressed your opinions around your parents? If you were like me, you got your mouth washed out with soap.
My point is, in America you have every right to say whatever you want anytime you want to, but you have to live with the consequences. I was just addressing the consequences for Mrs. Maines.
Every time you express your "opinions" there will be reprecussions. In the office you can insult your boss, but get ready to be fired. On the track you can call a shot putter a jackass, but get ready to get pounded. The key is considering what the "reprecussions" will be before you open your mouth; and if you care that much, say it anyway.
I honestly believe (seriously) that the Dixie Chicks should either be prohibited from returning to the USA, and or executed for war crimes.
Seriously. You nitwits won't listen to me, but if you ask my 3 kids ranging from 4 to 8, what to do with the Dixie Chicks, the response is a unanimous "Kill them for treason"
God Bless the USA>
I agree, everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, under the current president if you don't agree with him than you to are relegated to the axis of evil. give me a break!!
