Looking for some help here. I have been training for a fall marathon since January, and I am feeling pretty good. I read that distil elongation is an important marker for fast marathoners, but my calves are very muscular and my ankles are not very skinny. What can I do to reduce my ankle circumference? I think that for my race in October, I will probably land somewhere 3:15-3:25, but I'm hoping to really reduce my ankle size over the winter and hit ~2:20 or so next fall.
I run about 45 mies per week, and I will almost definitely break 20 in the turkey trot this year, so it seems like if I can just get my ankles and calves a little thinner, I will be there...
Any suggestions?
