I've been wondering about this for awhile. If someone threw a rotten egg
that smashed on the ground, say for example in someone's backyard, how long would it smell bad?
30 minutes, a few hours, a day, a few days, a month?

Depends on the wind, temperature, air pressure and humidity.
wind speed = 0
temperature = 59 degrees F
air pressure = 30.04
relative humidity = 85%
dew point = 54.7
Consider the egg being on the ground in a grassy area mixed with dirt.
Also, the egg might be mixed with water, and the shell removed.
The egg has a hole poked through one side with a needle, and has been sitting outside in a cardboard box for 2 to 3 weeks.
This is all hypothetical.
Eventually different bacteria work it over & it has different good & bad smells over time, but with any moisture it’ll be divided up in a couple days.
Thanks.
My farts smell like rotten eggs and that smell lingers for EVER
Much of the bacteria that can harm us produce sulfur compounds as byproducts. So if sulfur products smell bad to us, we avoid foods potentially contaminated with harmful bacteria.
