She turns 38 this month and just destroyed the 18th ranked player in 45 minutes.
What women have been more dominant?

38 years old and 15 kg overweight says more about the standard of her competition. Women's tennis is a joke.

Nope. Serena is just that athletically superior.
The standard of competition in any sport is almost entirely determined by the following two variables, each considered over the past 20 years.
1) Access to sport for kids
2) Money paid to professionals
Lots of people have access to tennis courts as kids. The money in women's tennis has been very good for a very long time. As a result, without question, women's tennis is among the most competitive of women's sports.

http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2018/07/serena-williams-drug-testing-tues-theraputic-use-discrimination/75548/Annika Sorenstam was pretty dominant in the LPGA. Not sure she’s not comparable to Serena but worth mentioning. Lindsey Vonn in skiing. Jackie Joyner Kersey would certainly be a track athlete to mention. Katie Ledecky in swimming with all those Olympic and WC Golds and world records is in that world as well.
Well if you want to go back to a time when the pool of top competitors was admittedly smaller, Fanny Blankers Koen, who was the top female track athlete for several years leading to 1948 and could have won six golds in '48 if the schedule and rules permitted, might have been the best.

Those are all great but in my opinion not on Serena’s level. Ledecky hasn’t even been on the world stage 10 years and swimming has too many events to easily compare. Sorenstam has 10 majors compared to 22. Vonn has “only” one Olympic gold medal. Kersey might be the closest.
Serena Williams is a top 10 athlete of ALL TIME. Let alone best woman. Name 10 athletes who were as dominant in their sport as she has been.

85% career win percentage (820-141) in the greatest era of tennis.
I don’t think anyone really compares to Serena either. Annika won like 90 tournaments including the 10 majors. She also won the Evian twice before it became the 5th major on the Tour. Not to mention that she walked away from golf at 38. She’s probably the closest IMO.

What kind of sport is it where the best athlete/player is nearly 40 and overweight? Championship darts?

You mean like opposed to Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the PGA?...I’m not sure.

One would think that a "top 10 athlete of ALL TIME. Let alone best woman." would be one of the top 10 players in their own sport during their prime. Serena was never in the top 100 tennis players in the world, let alone top 10.
So, no, it strikes me as highly unlikely that she is a "top 10 athlete of ALL TIME."

Drunk posting?
Tennis competition has never been marked by depth of competition. 2-4 players typically dominate at any point in time. Male or female. Especially so in today’s era of technologically superior equipment, where the advantages of the best players are magnified.

Women's tennis doesn't have any real athletes. Not one of them looks like a top athlete in T and F. At a track meet, Williams would look like a spectator, not a competitor. Too many hamburgers.
There are some morans here who can't even see that she is the best female tennis player of all time, let alone best woman in any individual sport. Frankly, the base here is pretty ignorant when it comes to general sports discussions, and you shouldn't expect to have a productive and informed talk on any non-running sports. This includes one of the founders who incorrectly fancies himself a sports guy.

How many women participate in Lindsey Vonn's sport? 100? It is laughable to mention her as a dominant athlete in a sport that has so few competitors.

Coco Gauff could run, Steffi Graff (not the professional runner with the same name) was a very good runner. Serena would dominate the discus.
