Recently did a 3x1 mile workout on the cross country course. There were some hills but it was a somewhat fast course though the hills did kill me. I had around 5 minutes and 30 seconds of rest. Currently a freshman and would like to go sub 16:50 in the 5k by the end of the season.

Based off this what times should I aim for by the end of my season and is a sub 16:50 in the cards? I ran these splits while kinda sick so I think maybe I can do better when I’m 100%. Also it’s worth noting I’m definitely a 800/1600 guy I’m doing cross country just to prepare for track. Anything is appreciated. :)
