I have run 9:57 for 2 miles and 4:33 in the mile as a junior this past year. I am looking at colleges in the south, I am from TN. Who has the best reputation for developing guys like myself at the collegiate level?

Lee University (DII program in TN) would be a good fit. They bring in 9:40-50 guys out of high school all of the time and have them running 14:30-14:40s for 5k within 2 years. Their coach seems like he really knows what he is doing.

All of the time? How many kids have actually made this progression from there?

Half their guys.
Contact Kevin Jermyn, the xc/md/distance coach at Elon University in NC ..very near RDU airport; UNC, Duke and NC State are in the area. Great small D1 program that is getting the attention it needs with Kevin back for his third year.
You can milesplit and tfrrs these guys
This is just one recruiting class. These guys were all sophomores this year.
Ben Tabor - 9:32 to 14:38
Caleb Eagleson - 9:55 to 14:44
Casey Guthery - 9:55 to 14:46
Here are two juniors
Thomas Kelton - 9:58 to 9:06 Steeple Chase
Jared Herzog - 4:35 to 3:56 1500m
They just had their first legit recruiting class this year. Should be top 10 at DII nationals.
Does Lee just not get good funding or did they just start developing guys like this in the last 2-3 years? I feel like I should of heard of a program like this.
Ok, let's not recommend Lee University to this kid without mentioning the elephant in the room.
Lee University is a Conservative Christian college. Better be of like mind to go there.
University of Southern Indiana, may be able to get a little money with those times. Hillyard is a fantastic coach. Several guys with similar times coming out of high school became multiple time All-GLVC or All-American in college, a few became national champions in various distance events including steeplechase.
I would change my religion to run that fast. Will be interesting to see how those guys end up doing their last 1-2 years of college. Apparently they are the cheapest private Christian school in the US.

Thanks everyone for the responses! If you have anymore let me know. I will look into Lee University (I am a Christian). Southern Indiana and Elon also looks like a good options.
Liberty University, another strong, conservative, Christian, southern college.
Rhodes has a pretty solid squad where guys progress if you’re set on staying in the south. Otherwise go run for Donnelly at Haverford.

I was 4:30/9:28 in HS. Are you close to 2:00 for the 800?
Look at Berry College also if your academics are strong. No athletic money (D3) but campus is probably the most beautiful one to run on.

Yea, you will just train as hard as possible and if you don't break you will get better. Over done son
Go to North Central. Probably a bit further north than you want but you will have a bunch of guys coming in with similar times who will go on to run 14:30.

I don’t know the colleges around you but you should also focus on developing your times with your last year of High School. I think that a 4:2x and 9:3x could be possible next year and that’d open up some more doors.
Wherever you go I wish you the best of luck, keep working hard
Emmanuel in North GA. Our first year with this coach, and he knows what he's doing. All I need to say, but we are also a conservative small Christian College as well.
Adams State, Western State, Colorado School of Mines, Grand Valley. Basically any of the top D2 teams. North Central is another good shout if you're looking at the D3 route
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
