Does anyone know what a typical week of training for Rhonex Kipruto looks like?

He trains in st Patrick's school in Iten. His coach is brother Colm. His training philosophy isn't too complicated.

.
It's probably something similar to this.
Ther was also an article on runnersworld about Rhonex

"following Kipruto on a 45-minute fartlek session where he alternates between running two minutes fast and then two minutes slow" . Colm said that few days before he made 10k time trail on dirty road in Iten in 29:xx.
In Doha Mo Farah will be runnig 10k and Rhonex isn't the best in fast finish (you can see this here
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Remed4byhSA
) . It will be very hard for Rhonex to get the 1st place

They probably laugh at Americans who try to make training complicated, over analyze ever training detail and focus on "science".
Hard work, and listen to your body.
Yomif trains in NOP and he shows that with proper training you can be one of the best athletes in 1500m-halfmarathon.

I agree Kipruto will struggle if it comes down to a sprint. I think Gebrhiwet is the favorite unless it's an honest race, in which case Kipruto will blow the field away. Farah will be a non-factor unless the pace is REALLY slow.
Then it is simple, Kipruto just needs to make it an honest race and blow the field away.
Fartlek: "Speed play"
Kipruto fartlek session: 2 on-2 off
2 hard, 2 off, is intervals.
Thank you.
In his best road races, he has maintained an incredibly fast pace by himself for long distances. That is his only chance in the 10000m, where a 26:40 on the road surely translates to 26:20s or better in good conditions. Doha will be an air-conditioned domed stadium, right? That lends itself to fast times. But it may be that Kejelcha, GWet, and Barega can just draft off of him and blast him in the last lap at both 5 and 10.
Mo is running Chicago. He’s not doing the 10,000 at Doha.

Go away noob.
You have structured fartlek and unstructured/pure fartlek.

Yup and I'll tell you why.
I agree with you when it comes to "fartleks" with set pace goals.
But if an athlete runs how they feel, on an up and down course, for a certain time, they can still "play with speed".
Picture a nice undulating trail. Athlete runs 10x3 minutes with 2 minutes easy. The pace will vary, the approach to hills/flat sections will vary. It can be a fartlek.
Running Doha and Chicago is possible for Mo. The 10000m final is one week out, Sunday, October 6. Chicago is Sunday, October 13. That's enough recovery and there are no heats in the 10000m.

No, orgin and the correct way to do a fartlek is surges by feel. Not set time.
I’ve actually chatted with Brother Colm about his training, for a 26:40 guy, he runs an insanely low amount of mileage 80-85 per week, which is lower than almost all D1 10k runners.
Just goes to show this guy is FULL of talent and may even get the WR one day

The amount of volume most Kenyans say they do is greatly underestimated. They'll often jog 2-3 miles(some of them even longer) to a certain point before "starting" their run and only count the amount where they really moving. And their cool down back home is real slow, often walking.

Mo farah will be running Chicaho for 100% but he isn't sure for 10000m
