yea, death trap wasn't out running
Because of people wanting fast same day delivery, they have strict time quotas to meet... Which leads to this behavior. Gotta love capitalism. These jobs won't be around. Amazon's drone deliver is getting a reboot. This is sad, because what will all these gig economy people do?
I'm completely fine with getting my packages a day later if that means people aren't hit by the driver.
But Bezos will take us to space!

Wait, but what will happen to all the cab drivers when the giggers come?
And what did gas pumpers do before them? And what did cotton spinners do before them?
Capitalism will fix this problem. People will stop ordering things from Amazon due to crazy drivers and beat up deliveries. Amazon will be forced to deal with it to win back the market.
when did Amazon use FedEx by default? They've always sicced UPS on me. I would prefer a delivery person who throws my package at the door to one who insists on showing up when I'm not there, and expecting me to pay $5 for the privilege of telling them in advance when I will be there to save us both the trouble.
Every UPS employee deserves a savage beating in hell for every yellow note posted! Logistics my azz.

BW... you're a true cretin, ever-present, You can go online to your MyUPS account and pre-sign for packages so it doesn't matter if you're home or not.
How have you not figured this out, if you're threatening violence on a person just doing their job???

Sometimes they don't even try to knock and wait for an answer at the door. I caught a UPS driver walking up to my door with nothing but the "sorry we missed you" sticker in his hand. He hadn't even bothered to get the package out of the truck before approaching my house. He was clearly just going to walk to the door, slap the sticker on, and speed off all with me right there in the house ready to accept delivery. Dude seemed pissed that I actually made him go to the truck and get my stuff.

Amazon could not renew a deal with FedEx so they now hire “independent contractors” and they pay them by packages delivered. That is why they are flying around everywhere. This literally just started and they have caused a lot of damage.
Literally?
These delivery people are not "insane." They're irresponsible, negligent, careless, and lack even an iota of conscience. There's a difference here.

It's bizarre how insane poor people are willing to act when a little bit of money gets thrown their way. It's like watching dogs fight over a treat. Sure, I might have had to kill someone, but I got the milk-bone! Sure, I'll run someone down in the street for the chance to make a lousy $25 per hour! (Of course I could have just gone to college and had the opportunity to make even more money than that, but it's so much easier to just drive around like a lunatic putting everyone in danger so that some company will throw pocket change at me).
I will literally bite off your ballsack with my bare teeth. Gnashing incisors ripping into wrinkled flesh, I grin possessed and drink from the bloody stump beneath your shaft, now a more useless tool than before.
Such a kind, considerate employer

IT has been out of control in my city. They are all young (18-25 if I had to guess) urban kids who are driving like mad, parking anywhere they want to and basically not giving a f**k. It's actually pretty nuts to witness.

Haha, just yesterday I almost hit the guy with packages on the road. And he looked like he didn't give a damn about it. It seems like Amazon started a Squid Game, where the last delivery guy is "eliminated". Still, I don't whine about it. My smart light bulb -
https://www.amazon.com/smart-light-bulb-bulbs-color/dp/B0922Q43LY/was delivered in 2 days, so I'm okay with it. Amazon delivery workers must get good money, unless what's the point of this hustle? By the way, the same story with food delivery services. Those guys have even tougher deadlines, especially now.
Weird way to try to sell a light bulb, creepy bot.
They really go after low hanging fruit these days. I picked up a package at work the other day and the driver started swearing at me and tried to start a fight with me in front of my colleagues telling me not to touch his packages, mind you he’s in my office. When the Ad Man told him they where my packages, he quickly changed his tune. I enjoyed making him take the stairs to deliver to the third floor .
There was a great mini-doc on this from CNBC 2 years ago. Amazon squeezes the crap out of these “Flex” drivers because it’s cheap contractor labor with limited liability.
The drivers try to make a living out of what is really just a “gig” job & it flat out doesn’t work. To top it off after taking into account vehicle costs (gas, depreciation, etc) these people are barely breaking even. The drivers don’t give a crap because they’re not employees and they’re only scored on making the deliveries. I’ve seen the same craziness of them pulling up, dropping (literally) off the package and tearing out all in under 12 seconds. One had their elementary school aged daughter running the package up while they got the next package staged.
