Wait until they get to their fifties and sixties, majority of them childless and alone, and likely a minority in their own country.

Maybe if they joined us in fighting against Climate Crisis they would be meaningful in purpose!

I think social media has a lot to do with it for the younger generation. I also think the pressure to see success in terms of income isn't helpful. So many people think they need to work a ton of hours & make a ton of money to be happy when, in reality, they'll still never end up super wealthy. The super wealthy are light years ahead of us and most are stuck working long hours for lower & lower pay. My advice would be to do work that makes you feel good/happy and find other activities as well. I could care less when I hear about someone's pay increase. My first question is do you like what you're doing?

they just hate their lack of career prospects or their job or both.

It seems to me that much of the world is in a malaise. Throughout 99.99% of history, life was a struggle to survive. Now that is solver for the most part. Many have thrown aside religion so they are left with a lot of time to simply be depressed. Back in the 1300s, you probably didn't have time to be depressed or without purpose. Your purpose was to find something to eat and make sure you didn't die that night or winter, etc.

Social media is doing this as you compare yourself to people's fake lives and/or highlight reel.

Don't you see, this is an awakening? People are realizing that there is something missing. When you live in a world where information is much more stagnant, such as the 1300s, or where you're forced to believe in a religion, and all along you have to work your butt off just to get by in the rat race, of course you're not going to have time to sit around realize "hey, this is all really f'd up!"

Take away religion and poll populations over the last few thousands years and what percent do you think will say life is meaningless and that they could life a life with more freedom and purpose if they had more money.

But yeah, social media is in it's infancy and is pretty trashy right now for sure.

So you're saying you expect the number to be lower than 89% if you polled young Venezuelans or Zimbabweans?

White Americans are not a minority and even when they become one, they will likely never be under Sharia Law, unlike we Brits.
