Nike... Makers of fine cheater shoes since 1972
Igy wearing the same shoe. My wife or mother tossed my smelly pair. They were great shoes; ran most of my best races in them. Wore them here at the 1974 Boston Marathon. Geoff Hollister was a cool dude by the way.
Good, those creps belong in a museum.
Met Geoff Hollister at Mt. Sac in the late 90s. He was a cool guy. In his backpack he pulled out an old pair of Nikes that looked similar to those with an aggressive waffle on the bottom. Said he was handing them over to someone that day for safe keeping. I got the feeling Geoff was the type of guy that maybe always had some obscure Nike prototype in his backpack, next to a ham sandwich, bottle of seltzer water and a 3-day old copy of the Oregonian.
Yea, laid back.

This investor is quite brilliant. He got an absolute steal. He can turn around and sell these for over $2M+ in the next 12-18 months if he wanted to, and if he holds onto them, this same batch may sell for over $5M.
StockX just hit a $1B valuation as the resale market skyrockets.

Nobody really designed the shoes Geoff gave us at the 72 trials.
Bowerman was too concerned with the operation of the meet to have them made. But had a supply of waffle soles. The uppers were probably made in a factory in Japan.
The waffle soles were stitched on to the uppers by a Eugene cobbler named Fred (The shoe Doctor) who had a Littleway stitching machine used in his shop to resole dress shoes at Geoff's urging and management.
I would love to say that I saved my pair in mint condition on a shelve in my closet, but of course I ran in them until they wore out.

Is it publicly traded? Is it a mutual fund? Sorry, but I can't find a direct price for the stock.
Geoff was one of my high school coaches. I always heard some great stories about shoes. Geoff always was running in some sick nike Frankenshoes. He told us about Frank Shorter, Nike had made shoes for the 72 marathon and planned on Shorter wearing them . He bailed at the last second. I wonder if these were the style he had and if he kept them ????

Thanks. Appreciate it. Now I can maybe run 400 meters at that pace, but I’ll be 69 next month. Glad to be doing what I can however.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
