Hello all.
I am a semi pro runner and longtime contributor on letsrun. I have run 427 for the mile and am now a collegiate coach in American 7th largest city.
I have been distributing my collegiate runners "oil" to apply on their armpits/groin/crotch to make their limbs glide easier during races.
1st off, I just want to make sure this isn't against any state or federal laws.
2ndly, this is a huge advantage and makes them be able to pump their arms faster and also each stride is much more fluent. The armpit area and groin/crotch must be shaved in order for the "slickness" of the oil to be greasy enough for a physiological advantage via racing.
Do you do this with your athletes as a coach, and if so, do you keep it a secret?
I pay for the oil out of my own pocket, as I am willing to exort to all extreme measures for my athletes to be successful and be champions. Even though running us a psychological warfare, every now and then I sit in my basement and devise a new tactic that can help my team on the physical level. They must help themselves mentally, and I can only aid them physically. Which is what a coach does, nothing but a physiological advice giver who occasionally gives his warriors a new product or invention. This is my newest raceday weapon within my arsenal and coaching repertoire; the rest of the solutions to victory exist only within my athletes mentality. It's in their brain. It's in the deepest desires. It's in their heart.
Thanks.
