There is no one who thinks he can't break 1:50 for 800. His PR is 1:48 And he has closed 1500's in 1:51.

Did Rojo change the title just to add in a veiled slam on the E. Africans (the word "legit" ) and he also got Jakob's age wrong?! Wow. LetsRun in a nutshell. I still love it though.

Editor's note: Yes, we had his age at 19 but now it's listed correctly at 18.

Who else could be better than Jakob at this point other than Hagos? Barega maybe but I think Hagos is in superb shape now. Don't think Barega is beating him.

Jakob is a talent but there is no need to exaggerate his achievements. If Gebriwet didn't run 26:48 a few days ago, he would have run faster from the start.

Let's just hope Hagos has something left when Worlds roll around. He's run two 10,000s and a 3 5000s. Of course Jakob has run 5 1500s/miles and a 5000 so they both are racing a lot.

What do you guys think of his decision to get the lead before 200 to go? I know he makes Jakob run wide but I think I'd rather stalk until the end.

Really? Are you simply using one off times this year as your guide?

Before this race, you most likely would have put Kimeli (who ran a 12:57 last month) ahead of Jakob. Yet there it was, Jakob absolutely destroyed Kimeli. Bekele? Lol. No.

You can put whoever you want ahead of Jakob but in reality it looks like no one besides Hagos ends up ahead of Jakob.

I was thinking the same thing about Jakob and Hagos G both racing a lot this season. As a fan, I love it, but I do worry about how they will hold up.

In hindsight, taking over the lead seems to have been a good call. While watching the race I was scratching my head though. Jakob has shown himself to be pretty useful over the final 100m, but I can't imagine he has done anything that would make Hagos nervous about the homestretch. It was an interesting choice to say the least.

Maybe he was worried that the 10,000m would leave him feeling flat in the last 100? Just speculating.

Legit world junior record. Extremely close to the clean WR. Unbelievable. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Watching Rhonex get owned also brought a smile to my face.

I still think Jakob is ready to pop off a 143 800.

Gonna go out on a limb and say Jakob is capable of 12:46-48 in a fast race.
