My goal is to run a 15:55 5K at the end of the XC season. Currently, I am going in with a recent 5K pb of 16:43 from a solo time trial.
I've dropped from 22:20 to 19:16 my Sophomore year(first year of running), then 19:11 to 17:40 my Junior year.
Those were much easier to shave off time because they were either average or slow times to begin with. So my question is:
Is it plausible to drop a whole minute off a 5K within the span of 5 months? I was running 30 mile weeks all throughout hs, but for this season, I bumped it up to 50 miles a week.
