I would consider a normal marathon slowdown to be around 5-15 seconds a mile slower over the last 6 miles. A “bonk” is when people have been cruising along at a 7:10 pace and then suddenly are run/walking 8:30-9 miles the last 4 or so. This happened to my friend. She finished in 3:16, but up to mile 20 was on pace for a 3:05.
There is no such thing as a normal marathon slowdown of 15 seconds per mile
You seem awful sure of things for someone who has never run a marathon
"Bonk" isn't a clearly defined term. Some would only use it to describe glycogen depletion, whereas they might just refer to a 15 second slowdown as "the wall." But I fully agree that there's no "normal marathon slowdown" in the last 6 miles. It may be common, but it's not how it's supposed to go if you've trained right and paced yourself well.
In any event, I agree with the posters above that low mileage runners don't run "MP" as that term is usually defined. For a well trained runner, MP is a hard pace that you would never hit by accident on a daily run. For low mileage marathoners, MP is often pretty similar to a steady long run pace.
