Austin will probably run 3 minutes slower than he did at CIM.

I couldn't get in with a 2:17 PR so not sure why they are limiting the field so much or what their criteria is.

What should the over/under be on Galen's time, coming back from injury?

Also curious about Parker Stinson, will the new American Record holder able to improve his marathon time to something a bit more impressive?

Does this mean Fauble is racing New York again? 16 weeks and 6 days between NYC and Trials, definitely enough time to get in shape again if all goes smoothly, but you'd better hope you don't have any setbacks.

Since Fauble already has the Olympic standard he doesn’t need to do a fall marathon at all. Guess he could probably get a good appearance fee at NYCM but seems like it would be smarter to race some shorter stuff in the fall and save the big build up for the trials.

My guess is Rupp will be nothing but awesome in Chicago. The dude has had one bad marathon, but then most people did that year at Boston.

I'm most interested in seeing Brogan Austin run 2:10 at Chicago. I am fairly certain he can do it.

Ben Rosario (Faub's coach) said in their Facebook fan group that Scott isn't racing a fall marathon this year and will do some shorter road races while training for the trials.

Here's our analysis of the fields.

One thing I'm curious about is whether any American men will run Berlin this fall. It's the fastest course around, and it only took 2:13 to finish in the top 10 there last year (with great conditions) compared to 2:08 to finish in the top 10 in Chicago.

I hope Hasay makes it to the starting line, I heard she is injured again.

I'm pleased to see Sarah Sellers running Chicago instead of NYC. I've thought if she can latch onto a solid pace on a fairly flat course such as Chicago, she could drop a 2:32.

Let's see what Rupp does prior to Chicago. He hasn't raced in 17 months and lost a fair amount of training, but likely bounced back well.

For the guy that thinks Brogan is going to run 2+ minutes faster than at CIM, wishful thinking.

Will Noah finally put together a good marathon?

Will Ritz pull one out of the bag? I hope so.

Will we finally see Parker crush a marathon, now that he's been training under Ritz and his first race was an AR?

Will Pinkowski, under pressure from Nike, water down the international elite field so that more Americans can finish top 10 for their qualification?

Will Cragg prove her Tokyo race wasn't a fluke?

Will Fat Josh have any athletes running, in hopes we can see him clogging up the finish line area?

All I can say is: can’t wait for the internationals so I can start a sixty day profiles thread like I have become synonymous with.

Why is Emma Abrahamson not included on the women’s list.

The elite field is going to be limited to Americans plus Mo Farah so that the Americans can get the top 10 slots and the Olympics standards that come with.
