TBH, I thought that too. I thought that was the original design of his singlet.
I actually agree with both of you. I thought it was some kind of national pride. Then when the commentary pointed it out I realized it was beginning to expand further down his singlet.

Dan Browne looked pretty bad when he won Twin Cities in 2002. That image has stayed with me for a while!
I just use hockey tape.
Nexcare paper tape is the answer. No other brand. Have used it many years, rainy marathons, humid conditions always stays on and a roll lasts months.

Is that it that we're making such a big deal about or is there a picture that shows more. I know that sucks but I've definitely seen worse.

Somebody at the LA Marathon a number of years back got his singlet seriously bloody. Damned if I can remember who it was, but it was somebody well-known at the time. A Brit, maybe?
