Believe it or not, I've noticed this the past few years.

If lifting the day after having a spinach salad the night before, I was stronger. I've made it a point to always have spinach before lifting (in addition to a few other OTC things I get at Walmart).

If you ate that much spinach in one go you would likely die, or come close, from oxalate poisoning. Plants are nature's one-two punch of chemicals, giving with one hand (leaf) while taking with the other.

I like spinach, but when I eat too much it makes my teeth feel fuzzy.

Can I buy this spinach supplement in the US?

8.8 lbs of raw spinach per day? I’m going to say that’s not possible. Humans aren’t cows. Our stomachs can’t digest that quantity of plant matter.

But, yeah, ecdysterone should be banned. Anything ending in -one should be banned.

Jesus Christ you guys are stupid! 4kg is 8.8lbs, do you really think he was saying that you should eat 8.8 pounds of spinach or do you think he was being facetious?

In the pill form they must have formulated it to Not have the Goitrogenic effect. All Greens do have goitrogens which reduce our thyroid hormone but we offset this with meat and dairy which attack the goitrogens with Selenium and Iodine.

If you had 8 pounds in one sitting there's no way, your system would go hypo

I thought this was another interesting story basically everyone has DHEA, it is a hormone. So like Testosterone everyone has different levels. I could walk into my local shop, even Walmart and buy a bottle of dhea then next day compete and get popped.

Few years ago there was a world class OCR who claimed to have thought they were taking DHA(Omega 3) and Not DHEA but ended up as having dhea and was disqualified. It seems like said athlete must have been taking a really high dose. To me it seems like the Carnitine test where if blood volume was so high then it would tell testers you injected abnormal amount.

There's so much out there, these high snobriety masters triathletes are stacking synthetic testosterone with dhea and since it's TUE they think nothing of it.

I have to say I'm skeptical. Would like to see this study repeated by an independent lab. Ecdysterone is the steroid hormone used by insects for molting. Humans don't have receptors for edcysterone so it is hard to understand why it would have any effect in humans. Presumably the edcysterone in spinach is to screw up insect molting and thereby thereby kill the caterpillar that is eating the spinach. Chemical evolutionary arms race. Nevertheless, I tend to agree any substance with -one at the end (i.e., steroid) should be on the banned list.
