Why does Netflix have such a limited movie selection compared to Apple? Aren't movies kind of Netflix's whole thing?

Instead of rights to stream major films, netflix has heavily invested in developing its own content.

More importantly, apple has rights to sell the movie, whereas Netflix has rights to stream it.

It’s a lot easier and cheaper to get the rights to sell a movie (ie all you need is an agreement to pay x per download) then it is to get the rights to stream the movie to subscribers (who is going to buy your movie if they can stream it for free?).

We cancelled Netflix a year or so ago, after having it probably a decade.

Nearly all Netflix-produced stuff. Not worth it.

Your talking about streaming movies? Pay the Netflix subscription to get movies in the mail. Any movie you want you can have sent to you. I've been getting this mail service for almost twenty years. Never been disappointed, they always have any movie I want to watch, doesn't matter how new or old.

I pay for Netflix one or two months out of the year when something really interesting comes up. I can typically find something on Prime much easier than netflix.

have you noticed fewer and fewer movies are available on dvd through Netflix? My 'saved' list is getting very very long - fewer seem to be arriving in the actual queue. Meaning NFLX seems to be getting fewer DVD movies, for whatever reason.

The Netflix movie selection has been terrible for many years. That is why I canceled the first time. But the family likes the tv shows and a few movies. Any movie you think of they seem not to have.

The one tv show I've liked is "Friends from College," which was canceled before we started watching and there are only two seasons, but it is hilarious and/or painful at various times. We also watched a two seasons of a show called Imposters that was a Bravo production. It was a good looking show and the conceit held things up for most of the first season. Parts of the second season had little conception of what the show was supposed to be about and then it ended with a turn that was annoying, but had some virtues at least. The other stuff I've not been able to stand at all.

I've noticed for a long time that Netflix has a limited selection of movies compared to other sites. To be honest, this fact is very frustrating for me, because Netflix positions itself as the most popular movie site. I used to watch movies only on Netflix, but since I couldn't find all the movies, I searched for movies on other sites. I decided that https://123moviesgo.ga/ is much more convenient site, because I not only watch movies in HD quality, but also can download them if I need it. I value this site more than Netflix as all movies are free and there are no annoying ads.
