Do Vaporfly 4% give you the full 4% time difference in a race such as a 2 mile or 5K? Or do you only receive the 4% benefit when running a half marathon or marathon?

It's not a 4% difference in time regardless of distance.
They got you.
They're fast shoes for sure. The articles I have read say it doesn't matter the distance and, to be sure, that's somewhat true. But be careful about the comparison here: the Vaporfly is 4% than Nike's previously fastest marathon shoe, according to Nike.
I recently ran a series of 1000m runs in similar conditions and my Saucony Type A8s were faster than the Vaporfly by about 2 seconds - essentially, no difference at all. The Vaporfly is still fast but its margin over the best shoes designed for shorter and middle distances is either zero or very small. Given their high cost and short lifespan, I would save these for PB attempts for HM and marathon races.
46 year old runner with many races at all distances. You guys that come on here and knock these are fools. TO also say another brand has something similiar is funny also.
I have been running for 30+ years and I dont ever want to be gullible about magic shoes, magic workouts, magic supplements but these shoes are the real deal at any distance.

Nobody above has said that any other brand has something similar.
I like the vaporfly shoe for the cushioning and comfort. But it doesn’t really make you faster
