I've got a coworker that I've agreed to help train for a fall marathon. He's late 20's, very fit, but hasn't run more than 15 miles in a week before. This is just a bucket list thing for him. All he's trying to do is get under 4 hours. The problem I'm having is I have no idea of how best to train someone with such a less than ideal approach. I told him just to run everything at a comfortable pace with your LR a bit slower. But if anyone has better or additional advice let me know. I'm just having a hard time trying to peel back everything I know about proper training for someone that doesn't want to run more than 4 days a week and thinks 45 miles in a week looks daunting.
