I’m a high school runner looking for a quick shoe besides my daily trainers. I would be wanting something that i could use for long tempos, shorter tempos, and then like 800, 400, or 200 repeats. What do you recommend that is light and quick yet springy with cushion?
You may want two different pairs of shoes, one for track surface and one for faster road or trail runs. You may not need a shoe known of high level of cushion when running on a track surface. Springy and cushion do not always go togehter. A very cushy shoe may have little spring.
The adidas Adizero Adios and Boston are both lighter weight shoes good for faster runs and races up through marathon. I have worn them for repeats too. The Boston is very durable. I have nearly 300 miles on mine and they feel like new. The outer sole has very little wear. Based on other posting here I expect to get 500 to more than 600 miles out of them. They can be found for $55 to 70 when a colorway is on clearance. I have not run in the Adios but read that they provide less cushion than Boston. Some claim not enough cushion for marathons while others fine the cushion adequate for marathons.
You may want to add what kind of durability you would like. Some of the very light shoes may only be good for 200 to 300 miles.
