I'm curious if the 945 is really worth it if you are a somewhat serious runner 1:07 half mara.. does it have anything else in terms of running that the 245 doesnt have besides that dumb lactate threshold? Idc about the maps cause after I buy the 945 I wont be able to afford any trips anyway..
9:45 for 3200 is probably better than a 2:45 marathon, all things being equal. However, as a formerly decent mid-D guy who ran 9:44 for 3200 but never broke 2:50, I’d rather have the 2:45 ‘thon. The grass is always greener. Follow your heart.
Barometric altimeter and garmin pay are the two big ones if you don’t care about all the (stupid) metrics and stats.
I have both. If you're serious about multisport or just have extra $$$ to toss away the 945 is fine.
Honestly though, the 245 does everything I'd want and have any need for. The 645 is a great option as well if you care about having the music/non music option too, just not this years release.
I'd probably say my order would be 245>645>945.
What does the 945, 645, or 245 have that the 45 doesn't?
I read the reviews, did a side-by-side comparison, and decided all the extra features were pretty much what I wasn't using on my previous watch (225) before it died. So I walked out of the store with a 45 because I couldn't justify the extra $100 for a 245.
So far I can see a few things that were a bit better on the 225, a few things that are better on the 45, and no deal breakers so far. We'll see if I still think that after another few weeks of use.
