You could just use the Beacon? The Epic React also has a much better cushion to weight ratio, feels softer and bouncier than the Vomero 14, and has a better distribution of cushion in the midfoot. It is still a 10mm drop, but feels pretty good for midfoot strikers. It has the same midsole material without the zoom air. If you like the Zoom Fly FK, you will like it as a more comfortable trainer option that is similar.

The other options is the skechers go run ride 7 and I have just purchased the reebok forever foatride energy. The both have good cushion on the forefoot more than Nike Vomero 14 and just as responsive.

Agreed on the Reebok. Have not tried the Gorun Ride 7 because I am waiting for the Ride 8 with Hyperburst.

I will do some research into those shoes, thanks. I like my Beacons but I am not convinced that they are great for me over the long run so I have been using them more for recovery days.

Very interested by the Epic Reacts as well as I love the look of most Nike shoes.

Anyone had experience of Hoka road shoes?

I got some Nike Pegasus 28 last sunday, and damn they are comfty for longer workouts.

I know they are not the same as the 35 but close in concept from what i've read.

Where did you find those? I don't normally see many of Nike's older models, it's almost like they clear the market quite soon after they have been replaced!

Old store huge sale! Also have some older nike trail assail ones that rock amazing at road trainings.

Anyways for longer runs I also do Hoka' Clifton's but only when doing really long runs on pavements. I don't like the flexibility at the heel but my knees still thank me for the hugeass cushoning.

Based on that list of shoes, you could use any lightweight cushion shoe, epic react, Reebok float ride energy, Pegasus turbo and sketchers gorun 7 would be my best guess. Though why not just use the beacons? Or get a pair of kinvara

You might consider Klompenwinkel clogs. I prefer the unsanded version.

I'm a big fan of a varnish myself. Unfortunately I do suffer from blisters and the last time I wore these they really flared up. I think they are better suited to speed work personally

Brooks Launch is also a great lightish-weight trainer. I use them often for long runs and also recovery days.

Can find prior season's models online for less than $60 and they will last upwards of 1,000 miles.
