Running is about oxygen. If I remove all my teeth will be able to get more oxygen per breath and would it result in faster times?
Kipchoge used to have a missing tooth.

Just take me instead, kid.
A good question for rekrunner. ?
Kipchoge has become even better at running efficiency over the years with his tooth replaced.
I think you should get a tracheotomy and connect it to an oxygen tank and run around the track. Sounds like this would fit your personality.
Disclaimer: Safe? No, probably lethal.
You have been inhaling a lot more than oxygen, haven't you?
That won't really do, you should suck on this hose for the performance-enhancing nutrients you seek, but close your eyes first.
This doesn't seem like a completely serious post, but I'll bite. Running is only in part about oxygen. If you are getting enough oxygen, then what might be holding you back are other non-oxygen things. If non-oxygen things are holding you back, then more oxygen will not address these non-oxygen defects. Looking at the subject line, we find "more efficient" is part of the stated concern. Increasing oxygen uptake doesn't address efficiency of oxygen utilization. Efficiency is about getting a higher percentage energy you produce dedicated to the desired act of running forward. Running is also about economy -- running faster with the same oxygen consumption, or consuming less oxygen for the same speed. For a more detailed look at what "running is about", refer to the diagram on page 4 (with the stated caveat "as complicated as the figure above may appear, it is still a simplification") of this collection of material from Stephen Seiler:http://www.owascoveloclub.com/Education_files/EXERCISE%20PHYSIOLOGY.pdf Another useful (illustrative) diagram appears In section 6, "The Time Course of Training Adapations" on page 97, showing how oxygen and efficiency improve performance over time. Increasing oxygen uptake to improve performance is a short term concern.

Intake doesn’t equal uptake.
Uptake will always be less than intake.

Yes, tracheotomy for enhanced oxygen uptake, but don't neglect you're saline enemas for hydration. Just as important.

I think you have this the wrong way round.
I read a lot of financial reports and it is clear from these that the economy is running away from us because there is too much consumption. not just of oxygen, but of everything; coffee, cotton buds, walt disney character novelty toys, santa claus costumes and high heeled shoes. we may not be consuming enough fruit and vegetables but that is a separate issue.
therefore, to improve the economy the OP should reduce his consumption, of everything, not just oxygen. maybe if he just held his breath for two minutes every hour and stopped wearing high heeled shoes that would help.
cheers.
Your teeth are just excess weight - get rid of them. You don't need your outer ears either; shave all your hair off; arms are a necessary counterbalance but you can get through life easy enough with just a thumb and an index finger on one hand. If you're serious about it, one kidney is all you need, and you could lose some ribs and drill a few holes in your arms. I myself thought nothing off getting rid of my penis and testicles, they were a huge drag. I run off road a lot so kept both eyes but if you mostly run the roads ...

+1 End of the thread.

Not quite.Your oxygen uptake will be the same, but you will be ligher and that will make you more efficient.
