I’ve heard people say his best event is the 400. Wouldn’t his 10.13 100m suggest he could probably challenge the high school record, if not a sub 20 as well.
The record is 20.09 by Noah Lyles.
Jeremy Wariner is saying Boling can run about 44.7 right now, if that’s true, he would be faster than Michael Norman was at both events, and he ended HS with a PR of 20.14.
Impossible to say. Maybe he is really a 100/200m guy who has been running the 400m because he was typecast because he is a white guy. Or maybe is a 200/400m guy (odds are stacked against being a 400/800m guy). We are talking about pretty small differences in starts and speed endurance between your best event being 100/200 or 400m. The 400m is also a bit of an attitude things as it hurts a ton more than the 100/200m which deters some people from running it. And I am always suspect of relay splits. The guy hasn't broken 46 yet.
In the end the guy still needs to make one more big jump to become an elite sprinter and become a sub 10/20/low 44 guy and one more after that to be a medal contender at WC/Olympics. Who knows what event that is likely to be in.
And we shouldn't forgot that 26'3 is also a pretty decent long jump. I have no clue what his technique is like and if there are some easy inches there or not.
