I was thinking some more about the women's results at the 2019 TCS World 10-K in Bengaluru, IND over the weekend where the top 5 women let it all come down to the track finish.

The winner Agnes Tirop got 26,000 for first. Has anyone ever won more money for a time slower than that.

Does anyone keep stats like that?

The weather in India is damn pathetic. Like 24 degree Celsius with high humidity in morning. Not that easy to run fast in India during April to August

Why would you insist on only discussing the 10k?

Anyway, I definitely cant think of any slower 10ks with this much money on the line.

But there have definitely been other obvious examples of big meets where people ran very slow. What is the cash value of an Olympic gold in the men's 1500? How much does that Olympic gold earn in a typical contract?
