I've had the Apple watch for less than 24 hours and am starting to feel like it's a ripoff. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Afew years ago, my mom bought me an apple watch for Christmas and I returned it as I didn't want to be on my phone any more than I already am.
However, once they came out with a cellular connection, I got more intrigued. The more I thought about it the more I thought it would be beneficial particularly once I became a father for the following reasons:
1) I thought the watch in a weird way could free me from my phone. I could go for a walk with my son and still be reachable but not have any way to get distracted by twitter, facebook, some random news story, etc. It also might free my 17 month old son, who is always grabbing for the phone, poking at my pockets looking for it, as well.
2) I thought it would be great to have on runs. I thought it might help me get back into a running routine. I wanted to be reachable via phone on runs in case something came up with the baby without having to lug my phone using a belt or arm band to carry my phone. I wanted GPS and I wanted to be able stream things to listen to. Basically, I thought it would be amazing to be able to be reached but also be able to stream things to listen to and to track the pace of my runs via GPS.
So I got the watch yesterday and it looks like it's largely useless for much of #2 and all streaming. How in the world is that the case? I knew their was a pandora app, an MLB app, etc. What I didn't know is those apps don't do any streaming. I can't stream on either one? What's the point of having pandora and a cellular connection if you can't stream music on it?
It appears the only thing I can stream is a podcast. Is that right? Unless I want to pay apple music. No, I don't want to do that. We already have amazon musics a thome and I don't need another service. I thought the whole point of paying $10 a month for the watch was to be able to stream on it. I can see why their is a lawsuit against the App store. I want my go to "Thumbprint radio" station on Pandora and I don't want to pay for Pandora Premium.
So is there anyway to stream something besides apple music or a podcast on it?
Weldon told me to return it. I assume if I bought it at an apple store that would be no problem. But since I bought it from Amazon, are they going to complain?
