Mary Cain is featured in a new video for the Mammoth Lakes Visitor's Bureau video.
In the video she's doing a bunch of rehab and looks pretty beat up when running so the fact she won the race in NY this past weekend is a good sign on her progress.
In the video below, Cain says the NOP, "really wasn't a good fit for me. It wasn't really a mesh."
She shows perpsective, "My new mantra for the next couple of months is to become an athlete again, not just a runner. When it's all said and done and when I am running, I love it. Yes, the competition side of it is amazing and totally fuels the fire underneath me but just the literal act of being out there in perfect form and just being fluid, I don't think there is anything like it. I think it's so intense -- our sport is every other sport's punishment -- that if you can find a joy in that it's amazing."
"I'm going to be a 60 year old woman some day and I hope she is way more kick as that my best ever runner self."
She also a Winnie the Pooh quote that talks about not worrying about the past or future and ends, "The past is history, the future is a mystery and the present is a gift - that's why they call it the present. And I think there is such truth to that."
The video is titles "our sport is every other sport's punishment" which is a quote from Mary in the video.
