Water would be my first guess.
You can say what someone can swim based on how fast they can run. They might be great swimmers or they may sink like rocks. However, 6 or 7 minutes isn't that fast for a quarter mile swim. I run just over 16 for 5k and am by no means a good swimmer and I can swim a quarter mile in about 7 minutes. I would assume a better swimmer could go a good bit faster.
i say dumbest question ever
i run a 15 minute 5k but i cant swim period, so i wouldnt finish
my friend is an 17 minute 5ker but he can do it in 5 minutes
your retarted
thats like me saying
im good at math, does anyone know if i like carrots
Thorpe swam 3:40 and Evans did 4 :03 So 400meters is similiar to the 1500/mile. Think along those lines.
that wasnt the high mileage story
some bitch from dyestat
There actually has been a study between the correlation of being good in math and liking carrots. The study was done on bunny rabbits. Since bunny rabbits love carrots, but cannot even figure out 1+1, the examiners concluded that if you love carrots, then you stink in math.
correction: you're retarded, as in "you are retarded."
anyway, many runners swim, and keep track of their laps. on a good day in the pool, i could bang out a quarter mile in 5 minutes.
there is no direct correlation between 5k time and a 1/4 mile swim. that is stupid to suggest there is.
given it is relatively short, why not just go swim it and see what you can do?
Everyone is certainly curious what Lance could run a marathon on, if he ever hopped off the bike.
This question doesn't seem any worse, just different.
Oops should say "...run a marathon in" not on.

Any competitive swimmer will tell you it is a VERY different question. Skill is required in swimming. When you watch a runner compete in a running race you can tell if he has the conditioning, but in no way can you infer how he will pick of the skill of swimming.
