If you race regularly , I guess at one time we all have raced a difficult course which made us realize how weather, hills etc etc can affect times greatly .
I currently live and race in Malaysia where the routes are almost always hilly and humid . But once i did this 10k midnight run where the humid was just excessive around 80%+ with bit of hills, i was all sticky and sweating just by standing still before the race , ended up running around 7 minutes slower and extremely wasted
Then i realized even the winners who were kenyans capable of going sub 30 ran so much slower , the 10k winner did around 35:49 and the HM winner did 1:14
Below is the result , top 3 were Kenyans

Do you have any similar stories to share ? I find it so interesting how different factors can greatly affect racing items
Thanks
