From the CAS ruling:
" individuals with XX chromosomes are not subject to any restrictions or eligibility conditions under the DSD Regulations."
In their completely misguided attempt to remove Caster Semenya, for the stated reason that her high testosterone levels create an unfair advantage, the IAAF an CAS has ruled that XX DSD runners are allowed to run as women, regardless of their testosterone levels.
What?
Let's examine that...
XX DSD and XY DSD are "disorders" because things are reversed. XY DSD individuals tend to have more female genitalia, XX DSD individuals trend towards more male genitalia. Both disorders give an individual much more testosterone than any non DSD XX female would have. If this intent was to limit testosterone, then XX DSD would have to be included. The fact that it isn't, is the proof that they were targeting Caster Semenya. Whatever "disorder" Caster had, is what they were going to target and by doing so, they completely missed the mark by creating an entirely new problem.
FACT: The ruling clearly states that it allows XX DSD athletes to run without restrictions or eligibility conditions
FACT: XX DSD individuals are also born with testosterone producing male genitalia as XY DSD individuals
FACT: XX DSD individuals still have much more natural testosterone that non DSD XX women
However rare you believe this is, I can guarantee that there are as many XX DSD athletes out there living and running as men as there are XY DSD athletes out there running as women, you just don't hear about them or notice because they are not world class athletes, or shall I say, they weren't until the CAS ruling. Men who are XX DSD are not out there burning up the track, so they are not a threat to anyone. These individuals now have the green light from IAAF to run as women. That's right, a clearly articulated blanket green light to compete with women without respect to their, their beard, mustache or high testosterone levels. As I said in a previous post, if you are one of those that believe XX should run with XX and XY should run with XY, congratulations, you got what you asked for, however, I don't think you are going to like the taste of it. I predict it will be slightly salty and taste a lot like penis and balls.
