I’m running the 3200 for the first time today and my mile time is 6:23. What should my pace be/ what time I should aim for. Also some tips I should remember when racing would help too. Thank you!!!

I ended up running a 14:03
I imagine an equivalent 3200 from your 6:23 would be around 13:30 to 13:45.
Also, the most important thing to bear in mind in a 3200 is to run even splits. Going out too hard can seriously hinder your performance.
According to VDOT, your 3200m time would be 13:36 based off your mile. Likely, you had some pacing issues having not raced it before and/or you like the aerobic capacity to perform at the same level as your mile. If you race the 2 mile again, run as even splits as you can, and if you have anything left, tighten the screws with 600-300 to go. I’m a senior and my state meet was yesterday. The girl’s winning time was 11:3x in the 3200m. Guess what their first 200 split was? 31. That’s near 9 flat pace. There is absolutely no reason for high school girls to start that fast if they’re going to run 11:30 at best. So, don’t do what these girls did or you’re just setting yourself up to burn out.
Good luck!
