I want to ask what the best 800 strategy for me would be.
Yesterday was the first time I ever negative split an 800, it was wet and I had forgotten my spikes at home... I slipped at the start and was behind the whole race. I split a 1:02 first lap(usually 57 or 58). I felt like I had a ton of energy compared to normal at the 400 and kicked hard there. I passed 6 people by the 600 mark and got into second before crossing the finish. I split a 58 last lap.
My 800 PR is 1:59.6 and that was a 2:00.3.
My 400 PR is 52.6 and my 1600 is 4:36.
Knowing this info about me should my splits be positive, even, or negative?
