According to this calculator, it's worth a 10.18:
https://www.brianmac.co.uk/mobile//sprints/altwind.htmEarly bloomer. Let's see how he responds when all the other kids catch up.
I just watched the video. They ran the wrong direction. Must be a WR for the backwards 100m.
Does anyone know what he ran the 4x400 leg in?
I'm curious if he broke 47.

Are you insinuating that he can't run a 400?
It's driving me NUTS to see how ignorant people are.
*Run in the wrong direction comments...
--SUPER common, especially in places like friggin' TEXAS where they LOVE to ride their tailwinds. It's not unusual. Stop talking about it. Move on.

--Wait till they catch up?!?! The kid is a legitimate 10.2/10.3 high school kid. Even if this was his ceiling, to be honest, 10.2/10.3 is good. Is he an Olympian? I dunno, stupid question, Olympics are dumb anyway. Is anyone capable of 10.2/10.3 talented on SOME level, regardless of age? Yes. The answer to that question is yes. Now add high school, and the context adds a lot to it, but still; 10.2 is worth it's due. Is he destined to run sub 10, 9.8x, 9.5?!?!?! I dunno, don't worry about it, get him some smart coaches/trainers and let him figure it out.
On the flip side....
*9.98!, All those 10.20s!! He's the second coming!!!!
--He keeps running these times with HEALTHY winds. He's actually showing some fair consistency, but he's also consistently proving the benefits of Texas running, too. I think, based on the evidence provided, that he is currently a mid 10.2/low 10.3 BASIC 100m guy, with a TON of upside based on his form, finishing abilities, and body build. But, one never really REALLY knows how fast HS dudes will pan out in five years. Dropping headlines/hype that this kid is a 10.0/sub-10 dude? Pure hyperbole and not accurate. You don't even need a wind calculator to automatically tell you that a 9.98 with a +4.x mps wind is basically an automatic 10.2. From there, you can give or take .05 based on altitudes, wind gauge inaccuracies, ect, but the 10.2x speaks for itself as it is. I think, if he peaks well, stays healthy, and executes a personally great race he could be a mid BASIC 10.1 capable guy THIS year, but he could also be peaking super early and maybe he's unknowingly maxing out right now.
For arguments sake, maybe he could squeeze in a 9.99 with a +2.0 if he still has a peak in him left and he can get to a 10.15ish BASIC ability. But I would contend he's not particularly close to that, yet.
THEORETICALLY, chasing a wind legal sub10 would be something he could chase at the US Champs. But, even if he qualified and went to the Champs (assuming he could get a wind legal Q time), if he blew up there with a 10.3/10.4 or something the haters would probably want to drag him suddenly down. The kids a high schooler, who I don't even truly believe understands the 100m Dash yet. He's just running on general sprint understanding and essentially pure talent. We don't know what he is or could be in terms of elite level sprinting. That's the TRUTH.
But it is interesting to see what he can pull off as things stand, and how much he gets the ignoramuses all up in a tizzy.

So...what's it like to go through life without the ability to appreciate or even recognize jokes?

Which means he would have ran a legal 10.08 if the wind was +2.0 m/s
What's it like to walk around making jokes that weren't funny when 50% of the worlds population already made that joke before you? And...sadly, 50% of that 50% made the comment seriously and not as a joke. Because people are dumb. Like you are.

At least your name is honest. Calm down, dude.
Uh, this is a message board. Lets Run message board, to boot. You calm down.
High school phenoms are hard to predict, but Trayvon Bromell ran 9.99 with a 4.0 wind and went on to run 9.84 wind legal so he could still improve (hopefully he will be less injury prone than Bromell, who I hope will make a comeback, can’t let Texas try and take Florida’s place as the #1 sprinting state)
Did he Long jump too?
25' 2"
Hurricane wind behind him but still crazy fast. Kid is a beast.
